The SMS group is used to group the address book contacts. In general two types of groups can be created, private and public.
Private – Private groups are personal groups. Member can create any number of private groups and can group any number of contacts for a private group.
Public – Public groups can be created only if “Enable Public Group” is set to “Yes” in Global Configuration. Your website visitors can subscribe and unsubscribe to public groups.
Field Definitions:
SMS Account – Select the SMS Account name for this Group
Group Name – Give the name of the Group.
Group Description – Description of the group. This description can be viewed in the front-end for your website visitors.
Group Image – Image for the group. The parameters like width, height & size for this image can be defined under Global Configuration.
Auto Approve – Setting this will automatically approve the member subscription for this group.
Group Type – Defines the type of the group.
Allow Unregistered – Define whether unregistered public visitors can subscribe to this group. Recommended settings is “No”
Notify E-mail – Setting this to yes will notify the group owner via E-mail for each subscribes & unsubscribe
Group Status – This defines the status of the group. Currently not used. Reserved for future use
Group Category – Since this is a public group a corresponding category has to be selected.
Published – Set the group to publish or not.
Once the public group is created and a corresponding menu item is created, the front-end visitors can view the public group and they can subscribe to the group by giving their name and mobile numbers.
