TOPIC: Links for the articles

Links for the articles 2 years, 2 months ago #4

Thank you for sharing your talent and let us use your wonderful creation. Your module does what I want. The only problem I have with it is that the article does not link to the right category. Even though it pulls the article when I click the link, it is not showing other information that should be on the page.

More accurately, I need the links in alias name, i.e. http://[domain name]/[section]/[category]/[article+id]. That is the only way it will link correctly.

Is there a way I can modify the code so that the hyper link will include the category as well?

Thanks for your kind attention.

Hi,

Could you turn of the SEF and send me the actual URL?

You can modify the helper.php and default.php to do these changes.
Thanks & Regards

I tried turning off SEF but it caused the links to break. So I can't send you what you requested.

Let me give you an example of what is happening.

For instance, if I were on the "food-n-drink" page and try to access an article within the same category/menu, it links fine (www.koshereye.com/koshereye-features/foo...-dalton-canaan-wines). However, if I were on the "cookware" page and try to access an article under "food-n-drink" category/menu, it would link to www.koshereye.com/koshereye-features/coo...dalton-canaan-wines. It pulls up the article but the other elements on the page do not belong to the food-n-drink category/menu, rather, they belong to "cookware". Of course, I am decribing links created by Article Lister.

Our site is not online yet but will begin online on Tuesday. I intended to list most recently added articles of different categories on the right column. To work around the program, I hard coded the links.

I can see how useful Article Lister can be if it can link correctly.

I appreciate your help.

Cheers,
Becky
